Café de Saign: Sharing experiences and searching solutions
Apr 30, 2020
Several months ago, in a Slack channel for UX Argentina, someone shared a video of an episode of "Polémica en el /var" by SysArmy, and suddenly someone suggested, "UX Argentina should have something like this."
I mentioned that I was interested in creating content, but it didn't get much traction. However, Luis Esquivel, whom I had spoken with before about some projects, contacted me privately and said he was interested. Then two more people, Nicolas Prieto and Gaston Lasarte, also expressed interest, and one of the three of them set up a private Slack channel where we planned the podcast for months.
In November 2019, there were a couple of technologically frustrating attempts, and we paused the project, although we continued to share ideas daily through chat. We always said, "this is a good topic for the podcast..." and that's where it would end.
Thanks to (or because of) the quarantine, we had the time and space at home, and we just needed to coordinate the day and time.
We switched from Slack to Telegram, which made communication a bit more fluid or at least different.
And that's how Cafe de Saign was born. We took until after the first pilot to settle on the name and create the branding. But we finally started, and the expectations among the four of us are high. We're improving day by day, and we like what's coming.
And what's coming next? Oh, no idea, but we do know that we want to talk about our experiences, things happening in the community from a design perspective, and above all, to provide ideas and, why not, solutions to try to improve our environment from our position.
